On Tuesday, March 24, we were back again at City National Bank (East New York Branch) to continue our financial literacy series. This time, the focus was Building & Repairing Credit, a topic that apparently interested a lot of people because we got over 40 RSVPs!
It was definitely a great and informative session. We learned:
- What goes into determining a credit score
- Things that can have a negative impact on credit
- How to protect ourselves against ID theft
- How to build credit
- How to dispute items on a credit report
- Credit scoring/reporting systems and sites
But don’t just take our word for it -100% of community members who attended the session said it would help them improve their financial situation. “The interaction with participants and the transparent sharing of information was the best part,” said one attendee. “I appreciated hearing about the newer credit scoring system [Vantage],” added another participant.
April is Financial Fortitude Month, so take the opportunity to do one thing that will help improve your financial situation. Our suggestion? Join us on April 18 for our 3rd Annual Health & Wealth Expo – there’ll be plenty of financial resources, includingthe third session in the Delta D.O.L.L.A.R.S. series – Withstanding A Financial Hardship.
