Purchase your ticket to the EKCellence in Action Scholarship Gala, TODAY!
EKCellence in Action is East Kings County Alumnae Chapter’s Inaugural Scholarship Gala highlighting community leaders who have shown exemplary examples of the public service initiatives outlined in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust. This gala is an opportunity to not only highlight these leaders, but to also highlight college-bound high school seniors who will be awarded with our 2019 Leadership and Academic Excellence Scholarship.
Since East Kings County Alumnae Chapter’s chartering in 2007, East Kings County Alumnae Chapter has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to college-bound high school seniors recognizing the outstanding academic achievement of graduates in our service area, who demonstrate a desire to pursue higher education. These scholarships have provided critical “last dollar” financial assistance to the recipients, enabling them to successfully matriculate in accredited undergraduate degree programs.
The purpose of EKCellence in Action is to increase our scholarship funds and we hope that you can join us in our effort! Purchase your ticket today at: ekcellenceinaction.eventbrite.com or through any member of the East Kings County Alumnae Chapter.
EKCellence in Action is a formal dinner that will be hosted by CBS News National Correspondent and Anchor, DeMarco Morgan. Our honorees include, Danette Sullivan-Hyatt of Carver Federal Bank; Dr. Evelyn W. Castro, Dean of Medgar Evers College; Abdul K. Abdullah, Co-Founder of Afrochella; Darian Hall, Co-Founder of HealHaus and Brooklyn Borough President, Eric Adams.
